Clear Days is a personal habit tracker that helps you cut down on or quit weed, cigarettes, or alcohol. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. The short version: your log belongs to you, it's used for nothing except showing you your own progress, and we never sell or share it.
Clear Days requires an account. When you create one, we collect your email address and a password, and your log data (substance choice, daily counts and ratings, personal settings, and timestamps) is stored in the cloud so it can sync across your devices. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us. Your browser also keeps a local copy of your log (using localStorage) so the app works offline and loads quickly; that copy syncs with your account whenever you're online.
We do not collect your name, location, contacts, or anything else. To understand overall usage, the app records anonymous, aggregate counts of a few actions (a page visit, starting setup, creating an account) along with where the visit came from (for example, a link source) and a timestamp — nothing that identifies you, and nothing tied to your account or log.
We advertise Clear Days on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). If you agree when asked, we use the Meta advertising pixel to tell whether someone who saw an ad went on to start setup or create an account. This sets cookies in your browser and shares a record of those actions with Meta, who may link it to your Meta account.
If you're visiting from the UK or Europe, we ask first and it only runs if you accept — decline and no advertising cookie is set, nothing is sent to Meta, and the app works exactly the same. Elsewhere it runs without asking, in line with local rules.
Either way, your daily entries, substance choice, streaks and settings are never included — the pixel only ever sees that a step was completed, never what you logged.
To opt out at any time, use your browser's tracker or cookie blocking, or email us at the address below and we'll tell you how. If you were asked and want to change your answer, clear this site's data in your browser settings and you'll be asked again on your next visit.
Account and log data is stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC. Access is restricted so that each account can only read and write its own data. Google acts as a data processor and handles this data in accordance with its own privacy and security terms.
Your log is used solely to operate the app: showing your calendar, calculating streaks and statistics, and syncing between your devices. It is not sold, rented, shared with third parties, or used for advertising — the advertising cookie described above never receives any of it. We don't send marketing emails.
We understand a log of substance use is sensitive personal information. That's why account data is protected by per-user access rules and why we collect the minimum needed to provide sync. You can use the app under any email address; we make no attempt to verify or link your identity.
You can clear the locally stored copy of your data at any time via your browser settings. To delete your account and all synced data permanently, email us at the address below and we'll action it promptly. Depending on where you live (for example under UK/EU GDPR), you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your data — email us and we'll help.
Clear Days is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Significant changes will be noted in the app.
