Clear Days is a personal habit tracker that helps you cut down on or quit weed, cigarettes, or alcohol. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. The short version: your log belongs to you, it's used for nothing except showing you your own progress, and we never sell or share it.
If you use the app without an account, everything you enter — your chosen substance, your daily entries, and your settings — is stored only in your browser on your own device (using localStorage). None of it reaches a server.
If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password, and your log data (substance choice, daily counts and ratings, personal settings, and timestamps) is stored in the cloud so it can sync across your devices. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.
We do not collect your name, location, contacts, or anything else. The app contains no advertising trackers and sets no analytics cookies. To understand overall usage, it records anonymous, aggregate counts of a few actions (a page visit, starting setup, creating an account) along with where the visit came from (for example, a link source) and a timestamp — nothing that identifies you, and nothing tied to your account or log.
Account and log data is stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC. Access is restricted so that each account can only read and write its own data. Google acts as a data processor and handles this data in accordance with its own privacy and security terms.
Your data is used solely to operate the app: showing your calendar, calculating streaks and statistics, and syncing between your devices. It is not sold, rented, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. We don't send marketing emails.
We understand a log of substance use is sensitive personal information. That's why the app works fully without an account, why account data is protected by per-user access rules, and why we collect the minimum needed to provide sync. You can use the app under any email address; we make no attempt to verify or link your identity.
You can use the app entirely locally by not creating an account. You can clear locally stored data at any time via your browser settings. To delete your account and all synced data permanently, email us at the address below and we'll action it promptly. Depending on where you live (for example under UK/EU GDPR), you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your data — email us and we'll help.
Clear Days is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Significant changes will be noted in the app.
